Early keeper looks and trade possibilities

Postby suckerpuncher » Thu Dec 11, 2008 2:35 pm

It's never too early to think about keepers and making some deals in fantasy baseball, right?
We play in a 12 team H2H league with 7 keepers each.
Scoring: R, HR, RBI, SB, TB, AVG, OPS - W, L, SV, K, ERA, WHIP, K/BB

My team:
C - Shoppach
1B - D. Lee
2B - Johnson
3B - M. Cabrera (1B)
SS - Scutaro (2B, 3B, OF)
OF - Granderson, Dunn (1B), C. Young
UTIL - Texiera (1B)
Bench - McLouth (OF), Dye (OF)
DL - Kendrick (2B), Greene (SS)

SP - Mussina, Vazquez
RP - Rivera, Jenks
P - Torres (RP), Grabow (RP), Corpas (RP)
Bench - Burnett (SP), Arroyo (SP), G. Gonzalez (SP), Petit (SP,RP)
DL -

Which 7 would you keep?

Since I got a bunch of quality 1B what about trading D. Lee for another keeper possibly a SP? Some managers already inquired about him.
One of the interested has Webb or Volquez but I'm not sure if he wants t move either of them. What kind of SP talented would be a good deal?
Or what kind of pick is he worth if I try to deal him for a pick?

Thanks in advance.

My team:
C - Shoppach
1B - D. Lee
2B - Johnson
3B - M. Cabrera (1B) ;-D
SS - Scutaro (2B, 3B, OF)
OF - Granderson ;-D , Dunn (1B) ;-D , C. Young
UTIL - Texiera (1B) ;-D
Bench - McLouth (OF) ;-D , Dye (OF)
DL - Kendrick (2B), Greene (SS)

SP - Mussina, Vazquez
RP - Rivera ;-D , Jenks
P - Torres (RP), Grabow (RP), Corpas (RP)
Bench - Burnett (SP), Arroyo (SP), G. Gonzalez (SP), Petit (SP,RP)

Then I would try and package D Lee for a SP and make that person your last keeper.

D. Lee, M. Cabrera, Granderson, Dunn, Texiera, McLouth, Dye.

Definitely deal D. Lee for if possible. I'd look for someone going in about the same round. Oswalt would probably be about right. For a pick, I'd start with a 3rd rounder, wouldn't go lower than a 5th.

I'm with the BigL on this one.
He once hit a ball between my legs so hard that my center-fielder caught it on the fly backing up against the wall.

If Satch (Paige) and I were pitching on the same team, we would clinch the pennant by July fourth and go fishing until World Series time.

Thanks for your input guys.

Now I have 2 trades offers on the table.

Deal 1:
I give D. Lee and my 6th rounder
I get a 2nd rounder an a 4th rounder

Deal 2:
I give the 2nd rounder from deal 1
I get D. Haren

In the end I would have a good SP and I improve from round 6 to round 4.
Should I do any of the trades?

Do its

DLee, 6th rnd pick
for
Haren, 4th rnd pick

Ya I do that. Without a second thought.

I'd keep M. Cabrera, Granderson, Dunn, Teixiera, McLouth, Rivera, Haren.
