The bolded guys are the ones I'm considering. Some of them are nobrainers, others not so much. I'm kinda thinking about Pierre as well, because I could really use some steals, but if he's not even playing full time, then that's a problem.
Sometimes it takes a crazy person to see the truth. If so, I'm a freaking lunatic.

I'm torn on #10. I personally dislike having Chipper Jones on my team because I can't stand to have injury-prone weenies. He is a solid player when healthy, but I almost wonder if Ervin Santana is less of a gamble this coming season. Since you're wanting to keep some saves, I'd go with Valverde.

In a 12 team league? Any player who might be in line for a closing job is being kept? I am just curious because you should be able to re-draft closers.

It's insane how valued closers are in this league. Not because of the scoring system or number of teams, just because of the people in the league.
Last year, there were 18 closers kept. 18. Since there's always a handful of teams with the closer job up for grabs heading into the season, usually the best you can find on draft day are a couple 4th tier guys and a handful of maybes, hoping for the best and committing yourself an everyday hunt for saves on the WW.
It's been this way for as long as I've been in the league, and it took me a while to adjust. My instinct is to not keep closers. But having Weathers as my #1 RP in '07, with a rotating group of about 9 other guys that combined for about 20 saves, was the final straw.

I wouldn't like to keep two closers but if they are gonna go fast in the draft then you have to. I'd rather keep Abreu than one of the closers so if you think you can get one back in the draft then I'd go that way.

I agree with you on the saves cat. If you don't have two reliable closers, you're going to have to find points elsewhere to compensate for those lack of points.

I'll go with Lebowski then.....except I'd keep Abreu over Gallardo easily.
