the slow draft that hochunk described is my favorite way of going about an auction. i've done a few that way and they've all turned out really well. one difference in the way mine was done, however, is that each manager must call up a new player for bids once a day (or once every 2 days, depending on how many players you want being bid on at once). also, a manager is not allowed to bid on new players until they nominate someone new for that day. at the beginning it is somewhat hectic as a lot of players will last multiple days before finally being won. by the 3rd day you can easily have like 36 players being actively bid on. this settle down as the draft progresses, however, and also adds more strategy to the draft based on when to place bids. i also enjoy it because drafting is one of my favorite times of the fantasy baseball season and it extends the draft rather than cramming it into a 5 hour period. (which not everyone can always make)
