Keeper League Trade Advice

Postby aguilafan » Sun Dec 07, 2008 5:02 pm

I am in a 14 team keeper league and I'm wondering if trading my 2nd round last pick as well as my two sandwich picks between the 1st and 2nd round is worth it in exchange for Colby Rasmus?

I wouldn't....even not knowing who's available. Rasmus is a good talent but not a sure thing, and I'm guessing other good talent is available in prospects or late round type major league fliers. I don't think Rasmus is worth a 3-for-1.

It all depends on what types of players are available in the draft.

well this is my first year doing this league but i was told that for the most part those who didnt play in the majors last yr should be availabe, however Rasmus was one of the guys who got picked up last year. Thanks for everything by the way guys I really appreciate it.

I think I would do this for the two sandwich picks. Odds are that anybody worth much will be gone by your pick and Rasmus has the talent to be a good OF. He didn't have the best season last year but if he finds his grove, you can bet that the Cards will have him up to the majors by July. Sometimes you need to take a risk and Ithink this is one that would be more likely to help you then hurt you very much. I just don't see anybody that you can get with those two picks that has the potential Rasmus has.

I think I would make this deal. I have Colby in my top 15 prospects still. He didn't impress much last season, but I think I will give him the benefit of the doubt and chalk most of his struggles up to injuries. I could still see him develop into a good major league OF which would most likely be worth the guys you would get with the picks...
