D. Young or Hart

Postby Dan Charette » Sun Dec 07, 2008 1:23 pm

This is a 10 team H2H league. Keep 10 players. Standard categories plus K's for batters and total bases.
The league also has lf,cf,rf positions. We also have a utility position.
I took over a team and I'm trying to build it for the future. I will be able to compete this year.
My keepers are ;
C V-Mart
1B Morneau
2B Ramirez A.
3B Atkins
SS Drew
LF Quentin
SP Peavy
SP Liriano
SP King Felix
I'm torn between Delmon and Corey Hart. I know I already have a LF, but Young's upside is really high. I do like Hart as well. There's a few right fielders who will be available to draft . I pick 8th in the draft. Dye, Mag Ordonez, and Ludwick are all free agents. If I keep Young , Hart would be another free agent right fielder as well.
I have turned in Young as a keeper, but I'm having 2nd thoughts. To make a change of keepers , I would have to do it this week. So should I keep Young or Hart.

Hart looks like a pretty solid 20/20 guy with an all around fantasy impact while Delmon took a major step back last year and still can't draw a walk.

I'd go with Hart pretty easily here. Young might not even figure in the Twins starting lineup. :-o

I'd go with Hart as well. However, I do share your concern that this could be the year that Delmon begins to reach his monster upside. However, like a previous poster said, he still can't draw a walk. If he ever shows increased plate discipline, I'm pouncing on him. For now, let him pass and go with Hart.

You have to go Hart here. I read recently that Gardenhire has Delmon as the 4th OF in Min which means that his playing time could be limited. I have also heard talk that they are looking to trade him but either way I would skip the Delmon headache and hang on to Hart.

Keep Hart, let Young be the 'could be breakout' free agent.

No dispute from me. Hart's a lot less sexy than he was a year ago, but he's still solid and Delmon is...well...just another guy right now until he proves otherwise.
