Is this enough for King Felix? WHIR

Postby nutjobs » Sat Dec 06, 2008 4:11 am

I'm looking to rebuild, and already have a young team as is. I'm not going anywhere this year so Felix Hernandez holds no real value to me so my question is are Chris Tillman and Carlos Carrasco enough to let him go, if not what should I counter with. Here is a quick list of all the minor league talent this guy has.

C Matt Wieters
1B Gaby Sanchez
2B Emilio Bonifacio
SS Carlos Truinfel
3B Angel Villalona
3B Dayan Viciedo
OF Greg Halman
OF Mike Stanton
OF Ben Revere
OF Peter Bourjos
SP Chris Tillman
SP Carlos Carrasco
SP Aaron Poreda
SP Neftali Feliz

If you were in my shoes what would you ask for?

Felix Hernandez isn't exactly old. Hernandez is only one year older than Carrasco and two years older than Tillman, but he already has major league experience and has the stuff to be one of the best pitchers in baseball.

I do like Tillman, but I don't think it's enough for Felix Hernandez. I also don't think there is anything wrong in keeping Felix in a rebuilding team. He better give you Matt Wieters if you are trading him Felix Hernandez.

well i failed to mention that felix contract is only good for 2 more years where as all these prospects are good for 6 years.

Weiters has to be in the deal. You are trading major league talent so you need to get something close to that in return.

personally i think you should always go for the victory early and then play it by ear and dump if need be, but i'll take your word for it that you have no shot this year and say adios to felix.i think an offensive cather like wieters is hard to resist. if you have good hitting go for two big arms like u said but i think i'd take wieters and an arm. carrasco over tillman.

Have to agree with everyone who said Wieters needs to be part of the deal, and I prefer Carrasco.

As already stated by a few, no Wieters for you, no Felix for him.

I know you're rebuilding. I believe that you stay put with King Felix and keep him the next 2 years.

If you can get Wieters for Felix, that's a major steal for you based on years they can be kept. No one other than Wieters would get be appropriate like everyone has said.

Wieters would have to be involved. If possible I would try to get Wieters, and NFeliz.
