What's your favourite draft position?

I like the middle. I drafted a week or so ago and hand the #5 pick in a 12 team league. Thought I'd go contrarian and take pitching first. Got Prior, Schilling, Hudson and B. Wagner with my first four picks. Offense is a little week (duh!), but I've got room to trade and grow. Besides, you've got to love that line up of pitching.

Different sports, for a reason that I am unsure of, seem to be better for different draft positions. I loved the 8th and final spot in hockey...

In baseball I prefer somewhere in the middle so that I can get a good feel of the draft and when the runs (ie. closer run) are shaping up. I'm usually fine with on of the two turn-positions but sometimes they force you to reach for a player because you're unsure if he'll make it back.

No, in all seriousness, I like 1st or last in a snake draft. But, yeah, the more I draft the less I care. Just different strategies. Plus, the later you go the better your waiver priority which counts for something, right? I've often ended up with real nice teams with last pick and then used my waiver priority to make a sweet pickup.

I think I can take any spot and draft well enough to have a competitive team, different spots just end you up with different kinds of teams
