Good potential one year pitchers
Juan Cruz -- This guy is a FA and might end up closing somewhere. Consider adding him if you have any useless bullpen arms.
Noah Lowry -- He's coiming back from injuries, proven in past to be a 2nd half stud. Might be worth a 2 year deal. Pre injuries he was a top 75 projected pitcher. pre injury he had a lot of upside, and has been a clutch 2nd half performer (think a young Hampton minus most of the injuries) He'd be a good upside swing back of the rotation guy that could help you in the second half during clutch time if any of your young arms get rested.
'Good one year utility-reserve with potential players
Juan Rivera - He will be starting whereever he ends up If he stays in Anaheim he'll have a great chance.
Gordan Beckham would be an outstanding signing to a long term contract but you'll have to eat it because he's young and just drafted this year. I'm not sure how long it will be before he comes up. They do need a 2b or SS for the future. The Missile will cover down one of those spots for many years to come.
Justin Smoak needs to be rostered and for several years. He's worth it. I've even heard they are taking offers for Blaylock and Davis to open things up for him.
Pedro Alvarez also needs to be owned for several years. Projection is 2010 for sure or sometime next year. He'll be well worth it. The guy can absolutely rake. He is known for his ability to get all kinds of hits (homers, XBHs etc). This guy reminds me a lot of a young Miguel Cabrera and that is lofty praise.
The Beckham brothers are going to be the next big thing, but the problem with Tim is he's fresh outta HS (meaning he's still a bit away from the majors) and he's playing for Tampa which means a hard time getting into that stacked pitching staff (starting mainly).
I mean guys like Niemann and Davis might have to settle going to the pen (one of them becoming a closer ?) If one of them goes there and blossoms, there pitching staff WOULD REALLY BE ILLEGAL.
The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be!
