I need a RF - have O-Cabrera, Yunel Escobar and now they are moving - Alexi Ramirez to SS. So I have been offered Shin-Soo Choo and Steve Pearce for Yunel Escobar and Aaron Hill.
I will need a 2B in 2010. Choo had a great second half last year and his contract will allow me to sign to a long term contract. I am not sure this is a solid trade if A-Ram stays a 2B then I am out a young SS. Any ideas?

As much as I like Choo, I think he's got a solid future. I don't think he's a upper end option, but should be serviceable.
I don't think I do this trade for you, all you are doing is hurting yourself in another position, and giving up a real good young 2B in Hill.
With the lack of quality SS's out in the market and I bet owners are having a depth problem with SS with 16 teams, you should be able to get a RF from dealing one of them. I don't do that trade. If you need a Of, I would probably shop Alexi, he has the most "hype" of the 3 of your options, and you have two decent options. I would look into that first or moving Ocab for a OF if possible.
I know two things: Your league size is deep and rosters are rather large HOWEVER.
I want you to RIGHT NOW go to your league's ww look deeply, post some players (an answer of NOTHING is unacceptable). I'd also like you to post some prospects also.
The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be!
Here are the players on the WW today that scored points last season: There will be other who may be more valuable after our resign period is closed in the first week of January. Until teams release players after our rule 5 draft period there is no way to tell who is available. Guys like Nelson Cruz, Cliff Floyd, Randy Winn, JD Drew( maybe).... the list: Giles, Brian RF SD Kearns, Austin RF WAS Matthews, Gary RF ANA Brown, Emil LF OAK Jenkins, Geoff RF PHI Michaels, Jason LF PIT Gomes, Jonny LF TB Wilkerson, Brad B. 1B TOR Gross, Gabe RF TB Joyce, Matt LF DET Chavez, Endy RF NYM Gutierrez, Franklin RF CLE Willits, Reggie LF ANA Raburn, Ryan LF DET Lane, Jason RF NYY Wilson, Craig A. Prospects: All of the top prospects from the last 2 years are under contract(Schafer, Maybin, Snider,Laporta, McCutchen,Heyward etc...). The prospects that will be available are all the players taken this summer past in the June draft and any guys who have emerged on the scene this past year. There may be a few out there that I do not know of yet..I am looking..
Let me know if this is enough or you want me to look deeper...

That is a bad value trade for you. For now I would pick up Brian Giles since I think he'll stay in SD for one more season and play full time (drop Betemit or Hairston). Hopefully you will be able to find something better by the start of the season though. For example there is speculation that Dye gets traded and Quentin (whom you have) moves back to RF. Or you still have the rule V draft.
I would explore trades now, but don't panic just to fill a hole and get less than full value for your players.
Prospects draft I have the 12,28,44,60,78 picks in the draft..
