At first my thoughts said no, but taking a closer look im leaning towards making the deal
I have Chris Young(Diamonbacks) while the other gm has alexei ramirez the league is a H2H 20 team keeper
I currently have no shortstop as i just dealt tulo for some much needed pitching I have very flexible options in the OF with Jay Bruce, Josh Willingham, Jeff Francoeur, etc.
young had somewhat of a down sophomore year as you all may know while alexei hit 22 home runs his rookie season
now that alexei has moved to SS i think that makes him more of a fantasy stud more than ever
what are your thoughts on the deal? any input would be much appreciated
this isn't even close, even those that don't believe in Alexei I'd think would say he has more value than Young. take it now before he realizes how thin the MI spots are going to be; this is a great trade not only based on your roster but ADP & many owners that will trade you much for for Alexei if you wish to retrade him again. It'll be argued long & hard if Ramirez is a top 50,60 or 70 pick, but I don't think Young is going to be a top 70 pick in any drafts this year.
Look man, Alexei Ramirez (THe Missile) has a lot of upside in his sophomore season. He has all the potential to be Hanley light minus the number of steals, but really looks more like a young Rollins.
Your giving up a marginal OF for Rollins?
See what you want to get?
This trade is easy, launch a nuclear winter with your first one being a missile of the Cuban variety. The kid at least for this year will have SS, 2b and maybe even OF elgibility. That's great. Thing is though, he will probably move around this year and relieve players in case of injuries etc.
It will be real interesting to see what happens if Jermaine Dye gets dealt.
The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be!
I agree with the others. I'd go get Ramirez and I'm a little surprised that all you have to give up is Young, especially after the kind of season both had. I think Young will probably bounce back somewhat, but I just can't stand his low AVG, which becomes an even bigger problem if he isn't stealing. 14 SBs for the year is really disappointing for him, more so than the drop on HR, I think.

Long and hard is right. Alexei was a "sleeper" 2 months ago but now he's rocketed up to 50-70 area. I'm surprised that he's still being offered for CBY. The other guy must not be paying attention to any baseball talk in the offseason.
Rocinante2: you know Rocinante2: its easy to dismiss the orioles as a bad team ofanrex: go on Rocinante2: i'm done Rocinante2: lmao
Do the trade. Even if Young rebounds and ends up being as good as Ramirez you will have the position you need. And Ramirez qualifies at 2b, and CF as well as ss. This gives you more options if you make other trades. In a 20 team league it's hard to fill a void in your lineup.
I could certainly see a big bounce-back from Young in 09. He has a good chance to out earn Alexei. That said, Alexei appears to be the safer play and his multi-position eligibility is a bonus in a H2H league.
