Those are the players I would consider keeping. Should I try to dump Holliday while his stock is high? Is Ludwick for real? What do I do with Utley out for half the year? Who should my 7 keepers be?
I'd send feelers out on Holliday and Utley. There's pretty wide disagreement about their values, but I bet there's at least one person in your league willing to give up second round talent for them, thinking that they're buying low.
If you had to finalize your keepers today, I'd go with Sizemore, Teixeira, Utley, Holliday, Lincecum, Broxton and one of Kazmir or Felix.
I think Ludwick's for real in the sense of .280-.285/25-30/90-100, but at his age, I don't think I'd keep him over any of the rest of your players.
to me Hollidays stock is at the lowest point its ever going to be; you could still get full value from him from some owner but a great many are going to be scared off now. I'd much rather hold on to him this season & see where he ends up in '10; if you want to sell high on a player make it Ludwick. You've got to see how Utley responds and you probably aren't really going to know by decision making time. You don't have room for all your keeper worthy guys, I'd try & package Soto & Utley/Ludwick/Ichiro into 1 better player and you'll still end up dropping too much talent into the draft again. keep Holliday tho, he's going to be just fine.
Try trading Holliday and Ludwick for Braun or Hamilton, but i would try to trade him, along with ludwick. But for your team right now this is who i'd keep...
Ok you've hit some bad luck. Since your Utley is out for half the year, that makes Uggla a must keep IMO.
Plus, you'll have nice trade bait.
That is 8 right there, I might throw out Corey Hart if your unable to do a deal. He's a good ball player but has less name value than those other guys do.
See if you can trade: Holliday, Soto, Kazmir, or Hart (any of these to get yourself a better keeper), a stud 3b would be nice....
The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be!

I like this post. I would probably just drop Uggla instead of Hart to get down to your 7 keepers. I would risk using a lower 2B until Utley gets back.

Being as your league is only 12 teams, you will be able to get a good enough 2B to use until Utley returns. I think Felix will be better in 2009. He's starting to gain much needed experiance. You do have some serious trade bait. Maybe you could package some of them for a great player. Then reconsider who to drop. You may even get Uggla back in the draft.

Holliday's stock isn't high; it's arguably at its lowest level in the last three years. The only way I'd move him is if you got first or second round value for him, which won't be easy. I agree with everyone else as far a the keepers go.
