I'm thinking about trading D. Price for J. Arredondo

Postby jebnasty » Wed Nov 26, 2008 10:55 pm

I think Arredondo will have a bigger impact as a closer, this year, than Price will have as a starter. Any thoughts. I just think Price is still a season or two away from being Sandy Koufax. WHIR

That makes no sense. The 10th best starter is more valuable than the best closer.

not in my league. 5 x 5 Roto. Saves, Whip and ERA are big. Price will have a fairly high whip.

I don't think I trade someone with Price's potential for a closer with no closing experience.

First off Arr doesn't even have the job yet. It is all speculation right now that he will be the closer. KRod could reup with the Angles or they could give the role to Shields or someone else with more major league expierence. So don't go trading away a player with Price's potential for a player that hasn't even been given the job yet.

If and when Arr gets the job then I would be ok with the trade assuming that this isn't a keeper/Dynasty league.

I have to believe that you could get a better player for Price than Arr. And that you could probably get Arr for a lot cheaper than Price. I would look to make a trade before Arr. is given the closer role.

As was said, Arredondo doesn't even have the job right now. I would not give up Price's upside and talent for a maybe first time closer.

Also, with all the hype around Price, I'm sure you could get more for him.

I wouldn't trade Price for Arredondo even if I was 100% sure that Arredondo would be the closer.

Keep Price, offer him around for a lot more than what you're getting, and if you don't get something much better...keep him. ;-D

No way I would trade Price for Arrendondo. Not even if he was guaranteed the closers job.
