I was offered Soriano, Maur and Krenshaw now. I am still thinking of standing pat because I can keep him for one more year after this. I was mistaken and thought this was his last year.

I am going through and figuring out who will be left after everyones keepers to figure out who will be left at the start of the draft.

this basically doubles Wrights worth and makes all the offers half as good; now you really don't want them. I think its important to learn the keeper lesson of not selling off your stars for 3 decent players. Basically in a 4 player minimum keeper league you'd like to have at least 1 first rounder, 1 2nd rounder 1 3rd & 1 4th to have an average team. Of course nothing like this ever happens but right now you've got 1 1st rounder & 2 late 3rd/early 4th rounder types. Its much harder to find the first rounders, you really weaken your chances in the coming years when you sell off your stars. Your best other keeper options right now are Mags, Youk, MO all who figure to have less value a year from now than they will this draft. You've got your work cut out for you, don't make it any harder.
A few years ago in a keeper I tried to trade for Pujols & the guy said he wanted 2 later first rounders for him.thats the kind of thing you'll need to do, replace your first rounder with at least first and second round potential.Mags & Mo certainly aren't ever going to be 2nd rounders again, Youk might have given you 2nd round production but its hard to imagine that continuing.you need to make a really really good trade when its time (if ever)to move Wright to be able to compete in the next couple years.

Definitely keep Wright for 09 and revisit the trade options next year... Wright's perceived value may even increase after this year because he'll be entering the Golden Age (27) at the end of 09 (I don't subscribe to this, but a lot of people do) and if he reverts back to his 07 steal rate and continues to add power, he may even jump past H Ram as the consensus #1 pick. At that point you just may get someone who is willing to part with a few later 1st round / 2nsd round picks for him.

Good luck ;-D

Wright's value will also go up to a contender as they realize they need Wright to win. Pennets fly forever and all that. I'd wait till the season then try to get 2 huge prospects and one great starter (depending on your prospect keeper rules).

Keep Wright for this year and next year when he becomes a free agent, consider all your options. But for this year, do not move him.

Please help?
