If it's H2H, do this trade then try to move Haren for a midlevel OF of equal value and you'll wind up with a net gain, as Hamels is going to be a top 3 pitcher with Johan and Lince IMO. K's, ERA, WHIP, wins, he can do anything a starting pitcher can. And you don't have to worry about what position to trade Haren for since you spread your talent very well. And if it's roto, just do this trade and forget about starting pitching for the next 5 years.
Rocinante2: you know Rocinante2: its easy to dismiss the orioles as a bad team ofanrex: go on Rocinante2: i'm done Rocinante2: lmao
I'd keep Markakis. He's getting better and he contributes in 5 categories. I agree with the post that said they'd rather keep 6 batters and 2 pitchers. Starting pitching is pretty deep this year. If you must have 3 sp's to keep, then I would shop Atkins around. I think Hart will rebound in 2009, and that would give you 3 outfielders who will help in 5 cats.
I like Markakis here as well. He's very stable already at such a young age, and has shown skill improvement year to year, especially on such a bad team in Baltimore
Pretty even, but I'd rather shop Hart and Atkins around in a 2-for-1 upgrade. Hamels' value is naturally inflated because of his stellar World Series run, but I think they're of similar value and I'd give the edge to the up-and-coming hitter normally.

Agreed. If 3 pitchers is something you are set on, then shop Atkins around and see who bites.
