minors and free agents available. Everyone from this years draft is available. Position needs are not very important to me but I will need a SS and 3B in a few years. SP are always important also. So these are some guys I'll be looking at in the early rounds. How would you rank them, who would you add, etc. Tim beckham, alverez, hanson, smoak, Morrison, alonso, matusz, hosmer, weglarz, Moore (matt), holland, zimmerman, beckham, sandavol, choo, inoa, viciedo, Fraizer and also that new japenese pitcher Tawaza or qhatver his name is. Thanks
I think this would generate more of a response in the Minors forum.
I would rank the guys you listed...
JSmoak - upside is Teix Tim beckham - ceiling is very high, but needs to prove himself YAlonso - will move quickly, likely push Votto to LF DHolland - pitched well, but Arlington might be unfriendly Beckham (Gordan?) Hanson - great in AFL PAlverez - did he sign? LMorrison - great power JZimmerman - likely to see time in 2009 BMatusz - not a big fan, see as more of a #3
Some guys to keep in mind for the late rounds (depends how deep your league is, I guess):
Michel Inoa, sp (oak) - largest contract for a non-cuban latin signee Brandon Allen, 1b (chw) - could replace Konerko soon Kellen Kulbacki, of (sd) - 07 sandwich pick, rebounded after a slow start. lots of power and walks a lot. Juan Duran, of (cin) - huge upside, but really young like Inoa. scouts rates his power as an 80 on a scale of up to 80.

G. Beckham might be playing in the bigs in 2010. Alvarez signed and should move quickly too.
He once hit a ball between my legs so hard that my center-fielder caught it on the fly backing up against the wall.
If Satch (Paige) and I were pitching on the same team, we would clinch the pennant by July fourth and go fishing until World Series time.
