Aaron Hicks and Engle Beltre.
I think both these guys stock are going to skyrocket next year.
Beltre - 11/01/1989 - will put up crazy #s in the Cal league. Potential 20/30 guy next year. Decent K rate but never draws a walk. Comparisons to Griffey and Bonds when signed as a 16 y/o. More than held his own last year in the pitcher friendly Midwest league.
Hicks - 10/02/1989 - The 14th pick in 2008 draft. Does this guy explode onto the scene next year similar to Heyward last year? "Hicks is one of the more athletic outfielders in the high school ranks and perhaps in the Draft class. How high he gets drafted depends on how highly people project what he can become. He's got a ton of tools, but will he learn how to use them?" Impressive in the GCL last year, hit .318 with a .900 OPS, 18 extra base hits, 32/28 K/.
So who do you feel is the better prospect? I'm leaning towards Hicks but would like some opinoins. Are both these guys future top 20 prospects?
Edit - I just saw BA has Hicks as #1 in the Twins system
