Power is a thing that often develops later and the player bulks up. The plate disciple is the key there and he is very advanced for his age in that department.
I agree that power develops as he grows older. In 2006 he hit 10 HR between A and A+, in 2007 4HR in AA, in 2008 8HR. I know he has been young at each level, and his plate discipline (73K 27BB) is great for a young player, but so far all I have seen from him is projection.
I mean I can buy into the idea that he will add power as he continues to grow and mature, but he isn't running all that much either only 6SB with a high of 8SB in 2006. I would be very happy with Fernando's numbers from a shallow position like MI, but from the OF, I'm not as high on the kid.
