Teixeira to Boston would muddy the waters somewhat. Although that is by no means certain to be on the cards.

If lars is there at #15 in my initial minors draft I think i will take him. Anyone think that would be a reach?

I have expanded my rankings out to 50 prospects. A few selections towards the end may be purely upside (Neftali Soto), but I think he can develop into something special. What are your thoughts? I probably missed a few guys who should have made this list...

I find myself pushing Fernando Martinez further and further down the list. .287/.340/.432 is really good for a 19 year old in AA. What concerns me is his lack of power and steals. His XBH% was only 8.8%.

Greg Halman is a guy I find myself liking more and more. As a 20 year old he split his time between A+/AA. His XBH% was 12.8%. He had 29HR 31SB. He Ks more than I would like 142, while not walking enough with 32. I will be interested in seeing where he is ranked (if at all) by the big names such as BA.

Neftali Soto hit 11HR between RK and A ball last season in 285ab. In 218ab in A ball, he hit .326/.343/.500, which is stellar for a 19 year old. His K rate wasn't too bad with 46Ks and 11BB in 285abs. He is still raw, and is splitting time between 3B and SS. I think he will probably end up at 3B though.

Nick Weglarz hit .272/.396/.432 as a 20 year old in A+ ball. 10HR and 9SB in 375ab. What I like most about him is 71BB 78K. He should move up to AA next season, and how he responds should be telling of his development.

Power is a thing that often develops later and the player bulks up. The plate disciple is the key there and he is very advanced for his age in that department.

I agree that power develops as he grows older. In 2006 he hit 10 HR between A and A+, in 2007 4HR in AA, in 2008 8HR. I know he has been young at each level, and his plate discipline (73K 27BB) is great for a young player, but so far all I have seen from him is projection.

I mean I can buy into the idea that he will add power as he continues to grow and mature, but he isn't running all that much either only 6SB with a high of 8SB in 2006. I would be very happy with Fernando's numbers from a shallow position like MI, but from the OF, I'm not as high on the kid.

3 guys off the top of my head that I like that I don't see are Josh Vitters, Matt Dominguez, and Aaron Hicks. I could see them being just out of the top 50, but they're close.

Vitters just missed the cut. Hicks is a good one though.
