Mike Stanton is a great prospect after hitting 39HR in 468ab and his line .293/.381/.611 isn't too shabby for an 18 year old in A ball. What concerns me about him is 153K in 468ab against 58BB. He Ks 32.7% of the time but only walks 12.4% of the time. If he can bring down the Ks, I think he will be a big time prospect, because the power is real.
Fernando Martinez has always been a prospect ranked by his enormous potential more than anything. In 3 minor league seasons he has only hit 10HR once and that was back in 2006. Last season he hit 8HR with 6SB in AA, albeit as a 19year old. I think you can find an interesting discussion on him here...
http://www.metsgeek.com/articles/2008/1 ... -martinez/Brett Anderson between A+/AA had this line
105ip 118K 27BB 1.16WHIP with 62% GB% at A+ and 57% at AA.
For a 20 year old, I would say that is a very good line. He is a lefty with a low 90s sinking fastball and good control as evidence by his 27BB in 105ip.
Austin Jackson is similar to Fernando Martinez in that it is mostly a ranking based on potential. As a 21 year old in AA he had 9HR 19SB and a line of .285/.354/.419. I like the potential of both guys, but this ranking is more from a standpoint of what have you done for me lately.
