You're set. Do not trade. Repeat, Do not make a trade.
Your pitching is set. Vmart may be done at C eligibility in the next season making Wieters that more important to have.

I add to the keep Wieters posts, espeically since you don't really know how V Mart will perform next year, although he looked good in September.

UPDATE: The new offer was Matt Cain and Broxton for Wieters. I declined. Am I nuts? I can't believe I holding to my guns like this, but I truly believe Wieters is going to be all that. I countered with V-Mart for Broxton. I feel that's a pretty good offer.

No Vmart for a closer is not good value especially since he's the proven vet and your wanting to rely on a rookie (who I say is not proven yet). Yes he might become Utley-esque value, but still that remains to be seen.
Withdraw that Vmart offer. Wait for him to gain his value back and trade him off for fair value.
Vmart will still have his catcher's elgibility through this season. You have a great proven vet who will bounce back this year for you, and then waiting in the wings is one of the best catching prospects in years.
Good luxury to have, make them pay.
The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be!

Thanks for the reply. I can afford to offer V-Mart for Broxton becasue i don't have any closers, but you're right, if I wait I can get a lot more for Martinez, and he's good to have until Wieters is ready.
