Fielder or Markakis for Lincecum

Postby WBC » Thu Nov 20, 2008 9:22 pm

18 Team Dynasty League

Here are my batters+
Pujols, Vmart, Agon, Fielder, Hamilton, Cano, Wright, Peralta, Sizemore, Markakis

Here are my Starters+
Webb, Verlander, Hughes, Hamels, Litsch, Blanton

I know I am an offensive powerhouse. I was able to build my team that way by basically mortgaging my farm system and pulling some quantity for quality deals.

Bottom line is, i was wondering if it is beneficial for me to trade a big bat straight up for a pitcher. I was thinking of either

Markakis for Lincecum

or

Fielder for Lincecum

Is it worth it?

I like the Fielder trade. You have enough depth at 1B to make the trade without hurting you. But I would say either of those trades are a good deal for you.

Either one will help your team, but I'd rather give up Fielder in a dynasty format. Markakis is dynasty gold.

Jeez dude, you should combine all these in one post :-°

Fielder for Linc makes the most sense because you have 3 1B, and I am contemplating doing that (keeping Linc over Prince) in a league of mine where I can only keep one of them at equal $.

really ? there are owners out there that would trade tim lincecum for prince fielder or nick markakis ?
fielder earned about $22 last year and markakis $25..IMO lincecum is waaaay more valuable

I'm really lost as to what that means.

EDIT: I get it now.

I am unsure why you even need Lincecum in your case. 18 team league, your pitching looks pretty solid. If you felt that insecure about your rotation then Fielder would be the one I would give up for him.

Like I said in the other thread, you don't really need to go out and get an SP. If you want to make this deal, do it for Fielder though, as AGon can replace him at 1B.

I think dealing Fielder for Timmy is a good deal, especially given your roster.

I would take Lincecum over either if you can get the deal done.
