He had a great season and is embarassing hitters in the AFL. I have him on my prospect list but what's his deal and when will he be up next season?

He is probably considered amongst the top 3 pitching prospects by now and has four pitches that are generally rated as plus by scouts. While he's been great in the minors a some scouts seem to think his stuff plays more like a #2/#3 pitcher. Kinda like Jered Weaver. Good and very useful in fantasy, but not great. Others see him as a number one or two. Keep in mind though that people had the same hestitancy when talking about someone like Jon Lester. Most agree though that he's ready for the bigs or really close. Apparently, he's going to get a shot at making the team out of spring training.

I'm not sure he'd crack my top 10 but he does have some nice potential though!

I'm hoping to see this kid in the majors at some point this year.

I realize it's the AFL, but 49 strikeouts in 28.2 IP is pretty impressive.

He's likely to start 2009 back in AA. Concerns about the violent recoil on his delivery might inspire Atlanta to be gentle with him, but if his workload stays manageable, he could be tested in Atlanta by the end of the year.
