12-team, roto. Hitting categories: R, HR, RBI, SB, OBP, SLG

Who jumps out from this list? How about a top-5?

Nick Johnson
Frank Thomas
Larry Walker
Richard Hidalgo
Josh Phelps
Torii Hunter
Mike Cameron
Trot Nixon
Pat Burrell
Roger Angell: I was talking with Bob Gibson and I said: 'Are you always this competitive?' He said: 'Oh, I think so. I got a three-year old daughter, and I've played about 500 games of tic-tac-toe with her and she hasn't beat me yet.'

Burrell has the most most upside but is the biggest risk. I'd stay away from Hunter or Cameron unless you really need speed. Other than that Go with Nick Johnson, Larry Walker or Frank Thomas. It's kind of a crap shoot. They all walk and have power potential.

Considering the offensive categories I would go with The Big Hurt.

I'd go with Thomas. You can't go wrong with him.

Burrell or Hidalgo are also possibilities if you want higher risk, higher reward. I'd lean towards Hidalgo since he steals a bit.

Larry Walker has 20 - 90 gaurenteed in COL atleast, so I don't see anything wrong with him. Hurt is always an injury risk at his age.

Walker, Thomas, and Johnson are the ones I like.

Johnson was leading the lead in RBI when he got hurt early last year. In MTL (more importantly at the Hiram in SJ) playing everyday he could be huge.

I'm having a hell of a time trying to resist picking him up as a FA.

I remember reading a topic on the Hiram Stadium in San Juan in either a fantasy mag or on a fantasy website that mentioned the likely scenario of the fences being moved back in that ballpark for this season. :-?

If that's the case, I would suggest moving Johnson down slightly on your FA pickup list.

Has anyone else heard about this as well?

Johnson and Thomas jump out from that list. :-)

They should both be solid.
