Thanks guys, Lackey seems to be the safe choice.

That's how I'd rate them.

I can't argue the Lackey choices that everyone has made, but how would you rate Verlander over Volquez? Just curious...

Not sold on Volquez yet. I'd like to see him succeed like he did at the beginning of the year again and for a whole year. He should still be great for K's no matter what, but his ERA/WHIP could be scary.

I think Verlander just had a down year last season. Remember, he was probably a top 10 pitcher going into last year. I think he rebounds and could come at a good value this season.

I personally like Cain myself.

I'd have to disagree. Rising walk rate....lowered K rate.....as a Tigers follower I see Verlander as supremely overrated outside of Detroit circles. He's always had difficulty keeping low pitch counts and has never pitched well in the division. Hopefully Detroit's new pitching coach can turn these things around as there seems to be a consensus that Hernandez actually hindered the success of their rotation. If so, I'd be more inclined to agree, but right now I'd put Verlander only ahead of Nolasco on that list.
