Should I move Maybin?

Postby BritSox » Sat Nov 15, 2008 5:09 pm

I'm in a dynasty, $250 cap, and have the opportunity to move Cameron Maybin (mLer) and a throw-in for two years of Kevin Youkilis at $12. I have RFA rights on Teixeira, and Travis Snider is my 1B of the future, but Youks would allow me to bring Snider up later.

Currently leaning towards doing it, as Maybin's GB hitting style and K/bb make me think he's a guy who could be a bigtime bust.

I like this deal. I am not very high on Maybin. He strikesout a ton and reminds me of Brandon Wood in a lot of aspects. I think it will be more than 2 years before Maybin has a full-time position and who knows what kind of player he will be.

I like this deal as well. I don't think Maybin will ever hit the big time. Youk is a solid performer who may have finally taken the next step last year. I think it is a great deal, as it makes you immediatley better, and the price tag is not that high.

Me too.
He once hit a ball between my legs so hard that my center-fielder caught it on the fly backing up against the wall.

If Satch (Paige) and I were pitching on the same team, we would clinch the pennant by July fourth and go fishing until World Series time.

What is your set up and how many positions do you start? At first this seems like an easy choice for Youk but it really depends on the dynamics of your lineup. If you need speed and you are weak in OF then you may need to think harder about trading away Maybin. Especially with WIllingham's trade, it is Maybin's job to lose.

I would take Youkilis for two years at $12 pretty easily.
