Last Keeper Spot

Postby tanyon » Thu Nov 13, 2008 4:52 pm

10 Team
6x6 Roto (Holds and OPS)
We keep 8, no more than 5 hitters
Finished 1st in 2008

So far on the hitting side, I'm keeping:

Pujols
Wright
Holliday
Phillips

For my last spot, I could either keep Ichiro or A. Gonzalez. I have a corner infield spot that I could put A.Gonz in.

Who should I keep?!

I'd prefer Gonzalez over Ichiro. Chances are, I'd try and keep both and only keep two of your pitchers (unless their absolute studs).

You have to keep Gonzo here. He took a nice step forward last year and he should continue his success. Plus his trade value is much higher if after the draft you would need to help fill a weak area.

Pretty close but I'd probably go with Agon as well in an OPS league.

I may consider Ichiro over Phillips though depending on whether you start MI.

If the other teams are keeping a lot of SB guys, I would probably keep Ichiro. He is money for 40SB.

If the redraft has some good options for SB, then Gonzo.

Gonzo the superior player, but with 5 keepers per team for hitters, you might have to make that last choice based on need. (steals) depending on what the other teams are doing.

W/OPS this is easy. Gonzalez all the way. Draft guys like Span and Taveras later if you want steals, no use wasting a keeper when you have another potential 35/110 guy in your lineup.

I'd also take Gonzo. Petco factor hasn't inhibited him drastically power-wise and is the more complete option over Ichiro in an OPS league.
