Its a 16 team 6x6...10 keeper league.........i have room for a 2 for 1......my main question is james shields real? a top 25 pitcher? I give up age with miggy for howard but with cabrera weight issues im ok with that...what do u think? thanks in advance

Shields seems to be kind of in the Tim Hudson mold. Good ERA and k/bb but not too many k's. So yeah, that means he'd be somewhere between 18 and 28 among pitchers. I think it's kind of what you see is what you get though. What we've seen the last two years seems to be his upside.
I like the trade (as Big Ken said it does kind of depend on who you bump by doing a twofer) even though I'm not too high on Howard.
He once hit a ball between my legs so hard that my center-fielder caught it on the fly backing up against the wall.
If Satch (Paige) and I were pitching on the same team, we would clinch the pennant by July fourth and go fishing until World Series time.

definate keepers are martin/berkman/utley/m young/derek lee/cabrera/lackey/lee......and i have a number of guys who i am not high on keeping such as sheets/broxton/lowe/burrell/ca gomez/tor hunter...even with this 2 for 1 trade i still have room for another bat..im leaning towards doing it because howard will pick up homers/ribbies.....and lose BA....to me the difference b/w him and miggy is less than a player such as shields..plus...getting 45 homers and 140 ribbies is nothing to sneeze at

I would keep Miggy and not do the trade. Howard's BA is killer. Shields is solid, but I would think you could draft a Shields type. Your other keeper options are kind of week so I can see why a 2 for 1 makes sense for you, but I would not do the deal.

I'd only do this if I have a majority of +.300 hitters on my roster or else Howard's BA will drag you
