Bryan Lahair, 1b Sea

Postby KCollins1304 » Sun Nov 02, 2008 5:03 pm

He got a callup at the end of last year and unfortunately got enough AB's that I have to make a decision about what to do with him for next year. This is a 25 man roster in a 16 team league, I can either drop him completely or sign him (years/dollars) 1/1, 2/2,...6/6. There doesn't seem to be a lot of new information out there about him and I'm not really sure what Seattle is going to do with 1b in 2009, I suppose it is between him and Jeff Clement depending on if they want to keep him at C or not. So anyone with any insight into the the Mariners organization that isn't Mugrila or BP would be very helpful. :-D

In a league the size of yours I would probably let him go. If you were really sold on him starting next year(which sadly could happen for Seattle fans out there)I would not sign him to more than a 1year contract. He just does not have much of a bat at a premium position for bats.

LaHair profiles mostly as a second division type of 1b. I would expect a line that resembled this:
9-12 HR
50 RBI
0 SBs
45 Rs

I would think if you have a platton partner in mind, he may not be a bad guy to keep for $1 and 1 year, with the expectation that at age 27, he is now in his prime power seasons, although in his case, I use the word prime very loosely!
