D. Lee traded?

Just heard on The Score (am sports radio) that D. Lee was traded tentatively pending his waiving his no trade clause. Didn't hear to who or who they got, though. Cant find this on any major news sites. Does anyone have any more info?

Yeah, that's what I thought. They made it sound like this was done. I don't think this would be terrible at all for the Cubs, although it really depends on what they get back. D. Lee has been pretty average offensively. Obviously Hoffpauir is a downgrade defensively, but he is younger, cheaper, has looked good in limited time so far, has a lot more power (25 HRs in 71 minor league games), and, probably most importantly, is a lefty bat which the Cubs are DYING for. I wouldn't mind seeing them get a couple of decent prospects and maybe make a run at Peavy.

He's like the Nick Stavinoha of the Cubs. He has one good minor league season and suddenly people are putting him in as a major league level starter. Bullwhacky. If the Cubs trade away Lee they better get solid pitching prospects and also sign Teixeira.

Also, I don't see the big need for Peavy. The Cubs went out and got another ace over the summer. Why do we need a third ace all of a sudden? Most teams would love to have a Zambrano/Harden/Dempster/Lilly/Marshall rotation. Should Dempster sign with someone else, I wouldn't mind seeing Lowe in that three-spot. Failing that,I wouldn't mind seeing Maddux or Moyer return.

I caught the last episode of Chicago Tribune Live. One of the guys said the rumor that Lee is heading to San Diego (for Peavy?). It was pretty conclusive that it ain't gonna happen.

dlee to SD makes no sense...the bleed cubbie blue blog had lee going to SF for mcain but that is just wishful thinking for any chi towner
