unions should have nothing to do with where free agents go. agents should also have nothing to do with where a free agent signs. an agent is there to sign the best deal for his client, not necessarily decide where he should go. if a free agent decides he likes it in a certain place more, the agent should then go about getting his client the best deal possible for that place.

I've been thinking more and more than Manny might sign in Toronto. I mean the Dodgers don't seem willing to go past 2-3 years, and the other big spending teams (Yankees, Red Sox, Mets) either don't want him or are interested in improving other areas. If the Jays give him a 4 year deal worth 90M or so (certainly possible), he'll probably take it.

Looks like they are giving offers to Burnett and Lowe, too. They will surely get atleast one of them.

I like Burnett. He is the type of guy who can absolutely dominate for a stretch or two. If he gets hot in the playoffs then he could carry a staff.

Yeah, I agree. They don't play "real baseball" up in Canada. AJ might as well reserve the effort and play for prestigious American clubs like the Marlins and Nationals. Because, you know, who would want to come play in one the biggest cities in North America when you could play in those places?
