Optimal size league?

Postby fast dogs » Sat Oct 11, 2008 2:22 am

I've been thinking of starting a keeper league and I think 1 of the most important ingredients is getting the right # of: teams, starting positions & bench to have a decent FA pool to at least have good players to fill in for injuries etc. Not so many starters that there is nothing left to pick from, & certainly not so small that there are nearly just as good of players in the FA pool as on most benches. 14 teams with 20 starters & 7-8 bench & DL spots combined seems about right. Somewhere in the 390 major league players on rosters range.suggestions?

20 teams, 25-man rosters works great for us. (Also have 20-man minor league rosters). Still plenty of players to pick up as free agents, but much more difficult to find impact players there. That's the point, though. Picking up impact players as free agents SHOULD be difficult. Those numbers work great for our keeper league. I wouldn't change it.

We are looking for a few new owners. Let me know if you are interested.

Make it bigger/relocate the crappy florida team...

Bring MLB to Vancouver...

"Vancouver Canadians" [just picture it] I can only see success with that combination

I would take a look at the nfbc. For 15 team mixed it's the perfect setup roster-wise imo.
