I do have a need for pitching, but will Cahill be able to contribute in 2009? If not then I am leaning toward a Bat.

id go cahill if you want a pitcher, smoak for a bat...and yes i think cahill will be a mid season call-up in 2009

I doubt Cahill contributes much in '09. He has all of 37IP in AA or higher. I wouldn't be suprised if he starts out in AA again next year. Then he'll have to dominate AAA before making it up to the bigs as well. The kid is only 20 years old....will be 21 come season time next year but I doubt they will rush him. Anyway, like I said, I don't expect much from him next year if that is what you are basing your decision on.
