Correct. You'd pay quarterly taxes on whatever you withdrew from the site. Even at a 25-30% clip for taxes, that doesn't make you "lose money" or make you have to "win out a pretty high margin to be profitable". That's the part that confused me because it doesn't make any sense.

i think i just worded what i meant terribly. all i meant is that you would have to give back money you won, thus making you less money. BUT, that would probably equal the added amount of added fish money from people who would come back because its "legal".

I've got the itch to play again, thankfully I'm going to AC in a few weeks. But I wonder if the sites would accept one of those Visa/MC "gift cards" that come with a predetermined value, etc.

The whole thing is just strange to me. Some people have tons of issues, some people haven't been affected at all.

What's the difference between .com and .net for these sites?

.net is their way of advertising gambling on tv. you cant use real money on the .net versions of the sites, only the .com.

Great day in AC, but since it was a bachelor party there wasn't as much time for poker as I would have liked. Two plus hours, half a dozen Heinken's and and a 320 dollar win was definitely a lot of fun. Unfortunately, now I've got the itch to play again and likely won't have the time or resources to make it down there again for a long while...

Congrats on the win and glad to hear you had a good time! ;-D

As to the thread, Pokerstars has become much softer than it used to be (more fish/donks since Partypoker doesn't allow U.S. players anymore and the Absolute/Ultimate Bet "Super User" scandal. At least that would be my guesses as to why.).
