i don't think the initial render size looks too bad, but the effects on it cause some of the lines on his jersey disappear and make his body kinda blend into one lump to where it doesn't really look like the initial picture

just so you all know, over on the football side theres a contest going on, and theres still many people needed, its already past the deadline but since hardly anyone signed up i think it may be pushed to a later date.
