Newbies 1st draft-10 team yahoo roto league. Am I good?

I thought I did ok considering this was my first draft ever and I didn't really know what I was doing. What do you think about it? I know my relief pitching is terrible and I'm wondering what, if anything, I should give up to try to get a top notch closer like Wagner or should I just wait a while and see how it plays out. Maybe Nathan has a great season? By the way I've dropped Guzman and put a waiver claim on Kaz Matsui but I'm 3rd on the waiver list and if I get him I'll drop to 10th so should I just cancel the waiver claim and hold on to my good waiver position to try to get a RP or closer later on? Sorry this is long but I'm havin an awesome time with this stuff and all we've done is the draft so far! Thanks in advance for any replies.

dont drop your claim on matsui...if it goes through fine, if not oh well....as far as your relievers u have 2 closers and that is a little below average in roto unless one is gagne, wagner,smoltz type of closer that will get u about 40-50 saves...so i might would try to pick up another middle tier closer that could get u about 20-25 saves... that will probably put u in the top 5 in your league in saves....your starting pitching is very good as u basically have 4 staff aces on your team....your offense aint bad and if castillo steals bases again this year u will be ok in steals with him, beltran, and furcal.. but do beware of furcals errors as u are counting errors as a roto category, he can burn u there bad, but the rest of your team is above average defensively except giambi... with that i would say u will compete for league championship with this team especially if giambi comes back to form this year........

Thanks, really good feedback there. Part of the reason I want Kaz is in case Furcal doesn't get me the steals I'm hoping for and if he starts to bobble the ball every time and does in fact start to kill me with errors. Also if Kaz does very well and his speed isn't overhyped he could be great trade bait later for someone like Dotel. Anybody else have any input? I'd greatly appreciate some opinions on how my team stands as is and what if anything youd recommend to improve it. Thanks again.

I would keep your claim on Kaz. I really like what the Japanese hitters have done in the majors, and from what I've heard and read, Kaz is in the same class as Ichiro and the other Matsui.

i would also put durazo up for waivers and get best availabe,you have 3wks to go and all mgrs will be using waivers and free agents dont worry about your "Good position" yet,other then that have fun and dont drop out at mid season like everyone else ,its the fun of improveing any team
