Pitcher rotations

Postby JasonSeahorn » Tue Sep 23, 2008 7:39 pm

If a pitcher is starting tomorrow (wednesday september 24th), would that be his final start of the season? Or would they have one more start, and pitchers going thursday be truly done? I have a league with no move limits (unfortunately), and the person I am playing against is a major streamer so I am doing my best to counter his streaming with a little of my own...I am curious to know if I can start dropping my normal starters tomorrow, or have to wait until thursday (and therefore could stream based on match ups the rest of the way if I wanted).

I think this could be applied to other people's leagues so I am posting it in the leftovers section.

i would assume that its safe to start dropping anyone who starts after today as there will only be 5 games left so each pitcher should only have one more start

Today's guys should all pitch again on Sunday. Looking at Wednesday's starters I would think it would be ok to drop any of them at that point except AJ Burnett who would likely start on 3 days rest to give him a chance at 20 if he wins tomorrow. Maybe Byrd or Buehrle could as well if required as the W Sox and R Sox are in division battles but I doubt it.

Anyone pitching on Thursday would not start again but could possibly pitch in relief Sunday if needed.
