Scoring Help: why was percival credited with an ER?

Postby ty24 » Sat Sep 20, 2008 7:36 pm

Any idea why Percival gets an ER in the 9th? He got the first batter, PUnto, out. The second batter, Harris, reached on Bartlett's throwing error. Then he managed to give up a walk to Gomez and a hit to Span on which Harris scored. He was not given an ER for the Harris run. After this he was replaced by Miller who got Casilla to ground out, but Gomez scored on the play. Shouldn't this be an unearned run since the out should have been the final out of the inning?

Whew, thanks for the response. I'm in a VERY tight race and CBS ruled it an ER. It made me drop a point in ERA and a slot in the standings. Hopefully they fix it soon. I know, I shouldn't be throwing him anyways, but I need saves and was hoping he would pick up an opp this weekend.

ya, sometimes cbs takes a bit of time to change earned runs to unearned after errors, they should have it fixed by tonight
