I just don't see Torres keeping the job next year, and I don't think they'll be a player for K-Rod or Fuentes since they have a couple aces of their own to worry about filling in the holes for. Any other closers or potential closers entering the free agent market the Brewers could look at, or any other players in house they could look at?

Yeah, I've tagged Villanueva as a possible closer for Mil the minute he got booted from the rotation. His arm is just too good.

I think Pena and Rauch have a better chance for saves than Qualls will in '09.

"Based on what he's accomplished of late, I don't see why he wouldn't be considered the favorite going in," Melvin said. "That's good news," said Qualls, 4-8 with a 2.89 ERA. He has converted all five of his save chances since taking over for RHP Brandon Lyon on Sept. 12 and has seven saves in 15 chances overall, although most of his blown saves came in the seventh or eighth inning. Opponents are hitting .229 off Qualls this season.

Short term. I'm not convinced Corpas and Buchholz will hold the job. Casey Weathers I predict will have the job by the ASB.

Chad Cordero will regain the job i'm guessing, but Bowden said he might release him so who knows. Hanrahan and Shell look like decent options to win the job.
