As is.
Fullmer may not get all of the at-bats against lefties.

I agree, they look good as you wrote them down. Phelps could have a huge year. People are starting to forget how good he was as a rookie, and that's a good thing if you want him cheap.

I rank Fullmer last. He may suffer from a lack of playing time and seems to have trouble finding a rhythm when that happens. I love Johnson, but don't know how he'll respond to NL pitching and if he has any real protection in the line-up. Phelps would be my first choice because he has shown he can put up power numbers and should play every day even if it's as DH.

1 more vote for As is

I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. -Crash Davis

Phelps has more potential than Johnson, but I think you might want to flip flop those two if you want to take a more conservative approach.

Don't know what kind of league you're in, but I'd take Johnson. He's more certain of playing time than the other 2 (although he seems to have a propensity for injuries). He's likely to hit 5th for the Expos instead of 8th, as he did for the Yankees. His OBP should be very high unlike Phelps who strikes out a ton. In my 10 team fp league, 18th round, Johnson was taken long ago; Phelps and Fullmer still haven't been.
