Championship round...

So I made it to the championship round in my Head 2 Head league this year and right now we are tied 7 to 7.

I should be winning but my pitching has absolutely imploded on me. I have 4 starts this week (Liriano, Baker, Kazmir, and Myers) and the longest outing was from Baker with 4.2 innings pitched. My era is sitting at 15.28 with a 2.32 whip. The only good thing out of this is that I have only taken 2 losses, one from Joe Nathan and one from Kazmir (my league counts losses).

Usually my pitching is my strong point, but this week my offense is carrying me. I just hope my offense can beat the other guys in average or else we may tie. Or hopefully I can get a few wins (he only has 2 at the moment), but I dont think I will be able to lower my era and whip to beat him.

Anyways, anyone else made it to the championship round and have their pitching blow up or offense go flat?

My pitching has been sucking but not absolutely imploding (5.50/1.45) and it's been my strong point all year. If it was roto I'd be first in ERA/WHIP/K, 4th in W, and 2nd in SV. But I'm edging my opponent out in K 32-10 and 4-3 in SV. We're tied in W.

But my offense....holy god. My boys have been godly today. 12/19 so far with 4 HR, 11 RBI, 8 R, 4 2B, and a 2.094 OPS.

That brings my totals this week to 28 R (to my opponent's 25), 24 singles (25 :-/ too much power for measly singles ), 9 doubles (8), one triple (0, thank you Mr. Beltran ...now here's where it gets awesome), 12 HR (6), 41 RBI (27), 1 SB (0 lol), .365 BA (.260), and a 1.150 OPS (.760).

Destroyed.

P.S. Special thanks to MCab and Carlos Pena (glad I didn't drop you) for hitting .500 this week with 6 HR and 15 RBI combined. And very, very special thanks to David Wright for going 2/21 so far.

Update: 17/29 today with 6 HR, 17 RBI, 11 R, and a 1.920 OPS. This is easily my best single day performance this year and it couldn't have come at a better time. Average to below average outings by my pitchers, but my offense...

Yeah, I had CZam implode in my one league and Blackburn in my other.

Well I ended up losing my league. I feel I was screwed, but oh well.

My offense lit it up for the first week with 17 homeruns and ridiculous other stats, but my pitching stunk it up.

I ended up tying with the guy (7-7) but he won because he had a lower team ERA. He kicked my ass in innings pitched, but only beat me by one or two wins and not many k's. If he didnt stream pitchers in championship round I would have beat him in wins, k's and maybe even innings pitched.

Won one and lost one. Lost the one I thought I was going to win and won the one where I barely made the playoffs. Interesting.
