Jake Peavy Scratched (Not Injured)

Jake Peavy was scratched from his start on Friday so he could be with his wife, who went into labor.
Besides the short notice, this could further hurt his fantasy owners since he may get just one more start. He's not expected to pitch this weekend against the Nationals. Dick Hayhurst will take his place tonight.

Just in case anybody else was wondering why Peavy isn't starting tonight, I know I was.

geez, first the cubs start using harden sparingly, then sheets goes down and now peavy out...yippee !! i was planning on coasting in from here but this alters my strategy in protecting a dwindling lead

wow this sux... i needed him to start as many games as possible.

i guess it's not gonna matter in my league after all...the team closest to me had suppan (5 runs in the 1st inning) and bmyers (10 runs in 4 IP) and sent bzito down this week (put the clamps on the dodgers)
