Scherzer's upside?

I've heard things from "flameout" to "Lincecum". I love the kid and I believe he's going to be a top 15 pitcher real soon, but some say his upside is even higher. Thoughts?

He seems like a Scott Kazmir type. He'll strike out 9-10 guys, but his pitch count will be above 100 before the sixth inning ends. I usually stay away from the pitchers that would rather strike everybody out than pitch an effective game.
My thinking could be way off, but that's how I see him going into next season.
