My friend "Travis" has quite the horror story. In the semifinals of our league, he was winning right up until the final day. His opponent went nuts, tied it 8-8, and Travis lost on the ERA tiebreaker.

Fast-forward two weeks, and the third-place game is coming down to the wire. Travis is up 12-6 going into today (Sunday), and his opponent picks up Litsch and Baker in desperation. They combine with Mike Mussina for 20 innings and one run, and it turns into an 8-8 tie. Travis loses on the ERA tiebreaker.

It might not be any consolation to Travis, but had he made it to the finals he would have done quite well. He would have led up until the final day, when I would have pitched Lincecum and Sabathia... resulting in an 8-8 tie. He would have lost on the ERA tiebreaker.

He doesn't like fantasy baseball too much right now.
