Vlad - knee 9/12

Postby Trebor » Sat Sep 13, 2008 3:09 am

Vlad left early with "knee irritation" friday...any inside word on whether its anything? RW saying DtD, but im locked in a tough semifinals battle and have a move to make if Vlad isnt gonna play Sat or Sun. i wouldnt drop him btw, but drop Wigginton in order to activate Adam Jones for Saturdays doubleheader (that is if Vlad isnt gonna play).

any extra news would be greatly appreciated

This is merely speculation on my part, but If I were the Angels, I would let him rest for a few days to make sure he's healthy. The only thing that they are playing for at this point is the number one record, which doesn't even matter anyway, because #1 or #2 (behind the Rays), they will play the Red Sox in the first round (a team can't play a wild card team from the same division).

If I were you, I would go with another player that you know will be playing...

Here's CBS Sportsline's take:

Guerrero leaves with a sore knee: Angels OF Vladimir Guerrero left Friday's game against the Mariners after four innings because of soreness in his right knee. Manager Mike Scioscia said he took him out as a precaution and may let him rest for a couple of days. Guerrero went 0-for-2.

Fantasy Analysis
The short night led to the end of Guerrero's 11-game hitting streak -- one during which he hit .422 (19-for-45). With the Angels having nearly clinched the division already, Guerrero might sit a good bit over the final two weeks, so exercise caution when activating the normally must-start option.

any def word whether he'll play tonight?

mlb.com says he "should" return to lineup tonight...other sites are more vague saying "wed or thurs"...

im in a tight championship battle and only other bench option is TheRiot whos game starts at 8:05, have to make a decision before then...any info is much appreciated
