What the hell are they thinking?

Rewarding failure seems destined to produce - more failure. But, if they've not learned that by now....

This is ridiculous. They should have stipulated that they fire the executives who ran it into the ground. If we're buying into these companies then we should get some say in their corporate structure.
Keep wreves in General Talk in 2011!

Looks like I spoke too soon.

MSNBC.com wrote:WASHINGTON - A $14 billion emergency bailout for U.S. automakers collapsed in the Senate Thursday night after the United Auto Workers refused to accede to Republican demands for swift wage cuts.

The union would rather them go out of business (get fired) over taking a pay cut? 8-o

So stupid it's funny. :-b
Yes doctor, I am sick.
Sick of those who are spineless.
Sick of those who feel self-entitled.
Sick of those who are hypocrites.
Yes doctor, an army is forming.
Yes doctor, there will be a war.
Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

It jumped out at me, but I haven't noticed anybody mention the terminology of the UAW's concessions. They offered to "suspend" the jobs bank. It seems to me that 's not the same as eliminating it. Do they really think that it has a future and is still anything close to a good idea? Maybe I'm just reading it wrong though.

Horrible bailout plan blocked in the Senate = ;-D

But it sounds like they're in agreement on the deal aside from some wage concessions? It will still happen in some form then. :-t

But with gas prices headed back down (I filled up for $1.32 last night) GM's plan to focus on trucks and SUVs will have them rolling in the dough within a few months. So why do they need my money?
