Rating my team

Postby ptak1 » Fri Mar 05, 2004 12:15 pm

I don't necessarily need to have my team rated but I would like input on wether to make certain free agent pickups. My team is:

C Javy Lopez
1 Texiarra
2 Vidro
3 Chavez
SS A-rod
OF Manny, Matsui, Anderson, Sanchez, Floyd
Util Kearns, Ortiz
Bench N. Johnson, Nix

SP Hallladay, Hudson, Oswalt, Beckett, Meche
RP Mantei, Isringhausen
Bench J. Williams, Peavy

There are several moderate to good FA's that I have been considering. However, I am not sure they make my team all that much better. They are: Klesko, M. Cabrera, Matos, Redding and Eric Milton. I am playing in a Yahoo h-2-h league with typical batting and pitching categories. I would appreciate any input about these moves.

Cabrera would be a good pickup. I'd drop Nix for him. His 3B eligibility could make him good trade bait.
I also like Milton more than Williams. I rate them about even, but big bats and a strong bullpen in Phi means more wins.

I'm not sold on Williams either, though I'm not sure about the FAs you listed being worth it. I might drop him for either Cabrera or Klesko and then try to trade whomever you pick up if they get off to a hot start...preferably for a closer.

I agree about what has been said about nixing nix for cabrera. I like Jerome Williams though and would stick with him for awhile, he has electric stuff.
