AL Rookie of the Year debate

Postby tah161 » Mon Sep 08, 2008 7:33 pm

On another forum I visit there is an on going discussion of who should be the AL ROY.

Two of the people think it should be Alexei, and then two of us think it should be Longoria.

I sited must important stats and how Longoria has superior stats to Alexei minus batting average.

I also feel Longoria has ment more to his team then Alexei has to the Whitesox.

What is your guys opinion on this?

It was hands down Longoria before his injury. If he can come back this weekend and play well :-° , I think he still walks away with the ROY.

Deeray, One Love Boomer, and I made an avatar bet in the beginning of the season about this topic. I picked Ellsbury, Deeray (of course) picked Longoria, and OLB picked Alexei. At first, Ellsbury was running away with it (until he hit a wall). Then it seemed like Longoria was running away with it (until he got hurt). Alexei made a little run at it, but I still think it's Longoria's award to win...

I have to say Longoria as well - especially if he is able to come back before the year is over and help out again. He had been doing it all year on a team that shocked a lot of people.
