Oceanside is pretty rough. There are a lot of gangs in the city. There are some nice parts but overall the city has a pretty bad rap.

I lived there for about 2 months when I first moved to the west coast without incident but it was definitely a bit rough even in the gated community.

What areas close by would you recommended going to then? Carlsbad or Vista? I could take her back up to like San Clemente, Dana Point or Laguna, but that is going back in my direction and it would make a 2 hour round trip into a 4 hour round trip.

Carlsbad is nice and it's not that far from Oside. There is a beach walkway which is about a mile. Pizza Port downtown is pretty awesome. Really good food and micro brews. I doubt she'd get carded there.
