If you're gonna have instant replay, have somebody off the field do it.
It's quicker and more effective, since they can even be looking at it during the minute or so it takes them to even decide to review it.
By the time they figure out it needs to be reviewed they would have the answer, and it would be a more accurate one.

I think the designated umpire goes somewhere and looks at it. It looked like they went in behind home plate and then came out to make the call.

I think that guy just feeds him video and doesn't persuade the decision.
