He Gone! (Updated: Carlos Quentin)

Postby Old_Style » Wed Sep 03, 2008 10:08 pm

Looks Joe Crede's season is about over due to his back. His White Sox career is probably over too. It's too bad, he was one of my favorites. :-/

On a slightly more important note, I'm hearing that Carlos Quentin might not return until after the weekend series. With Griffey being day to day, Jerry Owens should get some AB's. :-P

EDIT: Bruce Levine is reporting that an MRI on Quentin's wrist revealed a fracture. Good chance his season is over. :-t Maybe this will teach him not to crowd the plate so much and get the hell out of the way!

EDIT #2: Quentin's having surgery on his wrist in the coming week. :~(

So are the Sox.

That three game series up in Minnesota, at the end of the month, is really starting to scare the hell out of me. The winner of that series will most likely win the division. :-o

Carlos Quentin

Postby soty » Fri Sep 05, 2008 2:58 pm

Just read this on Rotoworld: :-o

An MRI on Friday apparently revealed discouraging results regarding Carlos Quentin's injured forearm, putting the rest of his season in jeopardy.
That's from the Sun-Times. According to Baseball Prospectus, WSCR radio in Chicago is reporting that Quentin has a broken wrist and is done for the season. If that's the case, the White Sox will play both Nick Swisher and Ken Griffey Jr. regularly in the outfield the rest of the way. Paul Konerko would also benefit. The White Sox as a whole, though, would suffer greatly

Konerko and Swisher should play regularly. Griff will get his hacks in whenever his back feels up to it. I'd like to see BA get an extended look in center field.

Barry Bonds for the league minimum sounds like a good idea right about now.... ;-7

Looks like is indeed the case. Big time bummer. :~(

Quentin Has Broken Wrist
CHICAGO (AP)—American League home run leader Carlos Quentin has a broken right wrist stemming from his own temper, and the Chicago White Sox left fielder will have surgery Monday that could sideline him for the rest of the season.

Quentin was injured Monday night in Cleveland. After fouling off a pitch while batting against Cliff Lee, Quentin hit his right hand on the bat as he was holding it with his left.
