i agree that it should have been scored an error BUT the call is very consistent w/the reluctance of most scorers to give an error on even the most routine of plays that are botched by major leaguers

That's the main reason I didn't like this instant replay idea. If something like that happens in the playoffs, look out!

agreed, it looked like a pretty routine play and sabathia just couldn't pick up the ball... he had a ton of time to make the throw had he fielded it cleanly
